Poop Catchers: A Review

One thing we go through like water is diapers. And believe me, we've tried them all. There is nothing worse than when a diaper "fails" and we have to change his clothes, his sheets, his crib bumper, and head straight to the bathtub for a full-body washdown. After a lot of trial and error (and a lot of grossly failed experiments) our biggest success has been with Pampers Cruisers, but they are seriously expensive. So when I was asked to give Luvs' new "Bear Hug Stretch" diapers out, I couldn't help but think I'd probably get through one day and head back to Pampers. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!

The big fat tabbies close up tightly and hug his legs nicely. The diapers are built just as sturdy as Pampers and are extremely absorbent. We went through the entire 40-pack without so much as a single leak! I was very impressed, but most of all, I was impressed with the price. The only thing I have a little bit of trouble with is actually finding them in the store. Luvs says they'd like to price a 40-count at about 8 bucks, although I saw them for $10 in the one store I did happen to spot them in (but they didn't have my little guy's size). However, the Pampers 46-count is about $16, and the Luvs are just as good. I will be on the lookout for these and as soon as I find them, I will be switching. It's worth it. The newborn sizes aren't out yet, but they will be in December, just in time for my other little guy's arrival. Sweet!

The $24 Lip Gloss

Robin, you'll love this one! (Boy I was in such a drought for things to write, but the blog just seems to be writing itself!)

I cannot go another day without writing something about my new $24 lip gloss. For me, that's pricey. I'm an Almay/slash/Neutragena make-up girl, with a side of Cover Girl lipstick. So I don't usually do anything more than 10 bucks, I don't even really know why. I certainly wouldn't mind a little Clinique in my makeup bag, but I guess I'm the type to stick with what works. When I find a good color, I'm a lifer. The cost of experimenting and having orange-face or 80's lipstick face all day is just too high for me. So on my recent trip to see my sister in Washington D.C., we stopped into Sephora, which I lovvvvve, and browsed around. Of course, Sephora always gives me a headache because of all the fragrances wafting in at me at once, but I can get over it quickly when I find wonderful little treasures like my $24 lip gloss. It's called "Pout".

It promises to restore collagen and give that plumped up, "just been stung by a bee" look. And when I put it on, it tingled and I felt absolutely luxurious! I was beautiful and everyone was looking at me like "wow! she's hot!" and it was all thanks to this lip gloss! OK that's not really what happened, but I did feel that way, at least until the tingle wore off and I re-applied and felt like that all over again. So, did I look like Angelina Jolie after one application? Or even after two? Well, no. But did I feel like Angelina Jolie? I sure did! So did my sister and my mother. So, I'm giving this three solid Valentine Peeps out of four, because it may not actually plump you up, but that don't mean nothin when you got this shiny tingly lovely gloss on your face and you're feelin fabulous. Even in jeans and a tee-shirt. So I'll take it. Thank you, Pout.

Dirt Devil Broom Vac

I promised I'd tell you my thoughts on the Dirt Devil Broom Vac and here it is. This is an instance where the commercial totally worked on me. Here's the commercial, and I'm dying of laughter because it was actually on You Tube! HAHAHA! Anyway, I got it for $49.99 at Target, I called ahead for the red one and it was actually the only Broom Vac on the shelf so they held it for me. On the Dirt Devil Web site the vac comes in a bevvy of fun colors. I wasn't sure of the assembly, I guess I expected it to be somewhat elaborate like everything in the Mom World is, requiring multiple screwdrivers and wrong instructions. So I took the box to the couch with me and sat down in front of "You, Me, and Dupree" to begin. I was looking for the assembly instructions and there were none. I was miffed. Turns out you just screw the handle in and "Voila!" It's assembled. So you plug it in to charge, it needs 16-20 hours, and it can sit on the charger forever afterward in between uses. It's a little loud, but not vaccuum loud, so that's ok with me. I used it first around the cat box, which was disgusting. It got EVERYTHING! I used it around the cat dish. Once again, lovely! I am loving this. My long hair that collects on the bathroom floor (gross I know), it got it all. The only thing is that if you don't empty out the dirt dish frequently, it doesn't suck as well. But once you clean it out, it's good to go again. I read a lot of reviews that said it was heavy (no it is not, it's actually quite light), and that it didn't work on large areas (that's not true either, it's not supposed to completely replace a broom). I give this an big old "Christmas Story" A + + +. I can wash my floors then keep them clean with this forever, and as Poops starts getting around more, this will become invaluable. I love it. This wonderful, magical electric broom will soon take its place along my "favorite things" sidebar. FYI: I do not get compensated in any way for any reviews, I just want to pass along my favorite things.
